Novice Cup 2003 (29-30-November-2003)
Better known as the Hatfield Cup, the annual tournament for Novices involved a soaking Saturday and sunny Sunday. The club put in strong performances in the Experienced Novice category winning Men's and coming second in Women's.

on the Tideway in London.

beautiful day in picturesque Chester.

Head of the Trent 2003 (23-Feb-2003)
The Men's 1st VIII took part in the Head of the Trent race in
Nottingham, coming away with 12th place in Senior 3 and 36th
overall in a division that included Cambridge University and
Oxford Brookes.

Pennant Series 2003 (26-Jan to 16-Feb-2003)
Collingwood had a very successful performance in the intercollegiate "Pennant Series" races, winning overall Pennant for most successful club, Men's Pennant for the men's squad, Winning Men's Crew & winning Women's Crew.

Henley Royal Regatta (28-06-02)
On Friday 28th June the men's 1st IV took part in the Henley Royal Regatta qualifying race for the Britannia Challenge Cup. There was a total of 73 entries for the event, which was to be reduced to 32 crews. 16 crews were given prequalification, leaving 57 crews to battle it out for the remaining 16 places. Unfortunately, the CCBC crew finished 26th in the qualifying race, 10 places and 6 seconds off. There are no regrets however. and the crew all believe that with more winter training next year, CCBC could be back with an excellent chance of qualification. The crew would like to send their sincere thanks to Gerald Blake who has given up countless hours coaching the crew since it was formed at Easter - A true inspiration.

Marlow Regatta (22-06-02)
As preparation for Henley Royal Regatta, the men's 1st IV travelled to the 6 lane Dorney Lake to compete in Marlow's international Regatta. Out of 20 entries, they made it through to the final and finished 4th with a very pleasing race.

Tyne at Home Regatta (08-06-02)
The Tyne is known by most Collingwood rowers for it's freezing cold 5.5km head race held in the middle of winter. But this year the CCBC men's 1st IV visited it's annual regatta, coming away with the club's first ever elite coxed four win.

As the regatta season began the people of CCBC sent a warning shot across the bows of their fellow competitors, taking five wins over the weekend. What better way to start off the exam period!

On the weekend of the Womens' HORR in London, the girls and boys of CCBC could be found shivering by the banks of the Ouse in York. Both Womens' crews won, with good results from the men too!

After the stunning performances of the Hatfield Cup, it was left to the senior rowers to complete the job in the Senate Cup over the full length of the Wear. The competition was tough but all in all the results were promising.

With only a month of rowing behind them the new members of CCBC battled it out on the river in the now legendary Hatfield Cup. There were good results all round with the men's and women's experienced crews both winning their categories.

CCBC showed their pioneering spirit once again by being the only Durham college to compete in this year's Concept 2 British Indoor Rowing Championships at the national indoor arena in Birmingham.

Prior to the start of the new acedemic year, CCBC descened on Henley-on-Thames for three days of rowing, sleeping and blisters. With near perfect conditions and very little river traffic, the camp was a great success.

Following the victories of Durham Regatta and the social excess of the barbecue, the Collingwood crews had to apply themselves once again to the business of racing. The hard work paid off, with CCBC winning the overall trophy.

At the end of the Epiphany term, assorted rowers, blades, bags, and one Men's Captain's Dad, squeezed into a minibus for a road trip down the A1 to London to take on the River Thames in the biggest head race of the year.

Double Victory in Pennant Series (Epiphany Term 2001)
Collingwood has secured its position as top college boat club in the recent intercollegiate pennant series. CCBC took the best overall college pennant, the womens pennant and narrowly missed out on the mens pennant by finishing 2nd and 3rd.
